It turns out… people are just like pumpkins.
This weekend we drove from Montana to Washington to visit my family. Each time when with them we try to do something that allows us to spend time and have fun. During this visit, we went to the pumpkin patch. I’ve got to say, this was the coolest pumpkin patch that I’d ever been to. There was a corn maze, huge trampolines, giant slides [which I completely bit the dust on], haystack tower and so much more. Did I mention the food? Yes, to kettle corn! Between spending time with my mom and sisters, Levi was completely spoiled by them. Even at 10 months old, I truly believe that he…

Meet Our Son, Levi! + His Birth Story
A Little Oopsy:Â Although I was 39 weeks pregnant, Andrew and I went to church and enjoyed the day together just like any other Sunday. We went to lunch at one of our favorite spots, went on an evening stroll with our dog and watched a good ol‘ movie. Before we knew it, the day was almost over! That evening, Andrew added some final items to the hospital bag and walked it downstairs to put in the car. I sat in the rocking chair in our baby’s room eating my favorite vegan ice cream with anticipation for our son’s arrival. After some time, I realized that Andrew had been gone for…

I Am Woman: My Maternity Photos!
NINE MONTHS PREGNANT. Boy did this pregnancy fly by! It seems like it was just yesterday that we saw those double lines on an at-home pregnancy test. I’m very grateful that my husband is my partner in crime in photography! It was so special to have him take my maternity photos and share this experience together. We can tell our son that his dad took these photos while his mama carried him! This pregnancy has been such a journey with preparing for motherhood as I witnessed my body completely transform. Initially, I hesitated to share my maternity photos because they show the weight gain, stretch marks, and quite frankly are a…

My Baby Shower!
In the month of September, we were showered by our loved ones in preparation for the arrival of our son. The shower couldn’t have been more perfect. It was an au natural theme featuring garlands, fresh sunflowers, daisies, and eucalyptus. The food was brunch-style with vegan and non-vegan options to choose from. And let’s not forget those delicious “MOM–mosas” and glitter lavender strawberries by Mimi’s Chocolates! We jammed out to 70’s funk as we played fun games and fellowshipped with one another. I’m so thankful for each and every person that helped plan and contribute to making this day happen. It was completely worth it as I got to celebrate with the people I love. This baby is so…

Beatin’ the Heat in Arizona: Our Baby Moon!
My husband and I had a BLAST celebrating our “babymoon” in Arizona! I love that each trip brings us closer together as we experience new sceneries and exciting adventures with each another. Sounds so cheesy but it’s true! Andrew and I stayed at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort for 5 days. This place blew us away! I have to say, Sanctuary is officially on my list of top three resorts. It has an exceptional spa, a lively restaurant, and let’s not forget the infinity pool! The location is settled in Paradise Valley, Arizona on Camelback Mountain where the scenery is a complete desert paradise. The staff at Sanctuary are very attentive and…

6 Positive Ways to Kick-Start Your Morning
1. Give Thanks I found that starting the day with a grateful heart completely sends my mind into positive overdrive. There’s no one on this planet of ours that has a perfect life or has reached completeness. Each one of us has our hangups and stressors that can make life difficult. But taking the time to reflect on little nuggets of positivity at the start of the day can bring you joy and even lead to being a blessing to someone else. Appreciating that you have breath in your lungs, you’re employed, or you have a hot cup of coffee waiting to be brewed :p can remind you that there…

Gender Reveal: We’re Having A…
A few weeks ago, my husband and I had no intuitive feeling about what our baby’s gender was. I suppose we were still processing the reality of expecting a real baby and we chose not to anticipate the gender. However, I had heard plenty of old wives tales about how to identify the gender. For instance: Carrying low means it’s a girl and high means it’s a boy, and craving salty foods means it’s a boy and craving fruit means it’s a girl (cold fruit is my new BFF by the way). Well, this week Andrew and I went to my 20-week anatomy scan, and… The verdict is in: we’re having a BABY BOY. cue ugly cry…

WE’RE PREGNANT!
WE’RE PREGNANT! Okay, so maybe you’ve already known for a while due to my posts on social media but we’re expecting our first child! Looking back, it’s funny how things work out. In February, I was afraid that we’d have more trouble conceiving even after my operations. Before we discovered that we were expecting, we sat down in our living room and discussed our family plans. Plan A: Continue to hope and try for a baby for at least a year. If that didn’t work out, then we’d result to Plan B: contact my doctor to discuss IVF. However, unbeknownst to us, we were already pregnant! The following Saturday I had…

This recipe is packed with protein and tons of vitamins to nourish your body & soul!
