It turns out… people are just like pumpkins.

This weekend we drove from Montana to Washington to visit my family. Each time when with them we try to do something that allows us to spend time and have fun. During this visit, we went to the pumpkin patch. I’ve got to say, this was the coolest pumpkin patch that I’d ever been to. There was a corn maze, huge trampolines, giant slides [which I completely bit the dust on], haystack tower and so much more. Did I mention the food? Yes, to kettle corn!

Between spending time with my mom and sisters, Levi was completely spoiled by them. Even at 10 months old, I truly believe that he knows they’re his family.

As the end of the year approaches and we’re in mid harvest season, I tend to reflect on God’s goodness from throughout the year and the areas in my walk that need more of Him.

As I was walking through the fields of the farm, I had a thought…people are like pumpkins. I know this must sound silly but hear me out. This farm had hundreds of pumpkins. Each one appeared and weighed differently. Not one was identical. If you’re like me, you’d pick the one that’s most gentle on the eyes [Not a fan of gords!].

Something so simple as a squash reminded me to cherish the differences in everyone, everything, and every season. Life doesn’t always go the way we’d like it to but that’s the beauty of His grace and growing from these experiences.

My prayer is that in the year 2020, we will allow God more in the innermost parts [ya know the places that we aren’t even aware of] to prune and use it for His glory.

What’s your favorite thing about the fall season?! I want to hear your thoughts! #harvestseason
