Top 5 Vegan-Friendly Food Spots in the Bay Area
1. Gracias Madre:
Nestled in the Mission District of San Francisco, Gracias Madre serves authentic plant-based Mexican food without compromising flavor. They provide great service and have actually become one of my all-time favorite vegan restaurants. Most importantly, I absolutely love that this place includes whole food ingredients in their dishes. If you hit up this spot, I recommend the sweet potato flautas- it’s the bomb! You may want to call ahead to reserve a table because this place is always poppin’. Plus like most San Francisco restaurants parking can be scarce, so get there early!
2. Souley Vegan:
In the heart of Oakland, Souley Vegan serves the best of both worlds: soul-food and plant-based ingredients. I can always trust that this place will satisfy my need for authentic Louisiana-style food. Seriously, it will touch your soul! (pun intended 🙂 ) To add, I’m a little biased in my favoritism for good food spots in Oakland. Oakland will always have a part of me. Not only did I used to live there but it’s where Andrew and I spent many date nights, and he even proposed to me at Lake Merritt!
3. True Food Kitchen:
True Food Kitchen is one of Andrew and I’s favorite restaurants when we visit Walnut Creek. They serve gourmet-style dishes with plenty of
4. Veggie Grill:
Veggie Grill is one of our favorite quick vegan food chains. This place is vegan heaven! Within the Bay Area, Veggie Grill can be found in Walnut Creek, San Jose, and Berkeley. We first discovered it when we spent a few days visiting Portland last year, and it quickly became our go-to place to eat during our stay. My favorite dishes are the nachos and the B.T.L.A!
5. Enssaro Ethiopian Restaurant:
Enssaro! I don’t know where to start! This restaurant serves delicious Ethiopian cuisine in Oakland near beautiful Lake Merritt. When visiting you get a taste of the rich Ethiopian culture. Please consider that this isn’t a vegan/vegetarian restaurant, however, they have options! I recommend the veggie sampler!
